Puzzle Platformer [AS3]

Here it is, my first big project which I’m adding to my portfolio! It’s a game called Puzzle Platformer, and although the name isn’t very original, the gameplay is pretty unique in my opinion. Note: The game is not complete yet (there’s only 2 levels so far) but it should be deemed “work in progress”. I just wanted to put something substantial on my website for people to see! :)

“Security” Gadget in Flash CS4 [AS3]

I was contacted by someone who needed help with making a “security” interface in Flash where the user had to input a sequence by pressing numbers in order to gain access to something. It basically involves 5 buttons and the person pressed them in any order. If they guess the secret code, they are redirected to a new website (in this case, a popup to Google comes up). However, if they are wrong, an error message appears. Although this isn’t very secure by any means, it’s still a fun little application I enjoyed creating.

(The sequence is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 in case you can’t figure it out :) ).

Switch Creative LA Website Intro in Flash CS4 [AS3]

This little interactive was completed for Ray Dougela of Switch Creative in Los Angeles, California. As the user presses the switches, they hear a click and the switch fades into a letter. After all the switches have been clicked, the word “Switch” is visible and a red button appears. Clicking this button loads the home page of the website.

  • Welcome to the portfolio and blog of David Lawrence

Celestial Flash is a place where I can portray my programming skills as well as blog about new projects I am working on. I primarily work with Adobe Flash CS4 and program games in Actionscript 3.0, but I intend to showcase different programs written in a variety of languages on this website. I am currently studying Software Engineering at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada.
